Sam and Beth met in 2001 while attending Barton Peveril College in the oft-maligned charity shop paradise of Eastleigh. Beth was just coming out of a relationship and was, like, well sad about it. So Sam and Best Man Dave did the only thing that’s right and took her for a fun meal at Pizza Hut (this website is in no way affiliated with, or receiving sponsorship from Pizza Hut). After chatting and laughing over Shrek toys, Sam and Beth became friends and Sam – note ONLY Sam – fell head-over-heels in love pretty much immediately.
But, Beth wasn’t quite ready for a new commitment, so she held out for much longer than is decent before finally succumbing to Sam’s charms whilst her judgement was impaired by a red wine-stained haze. They have never looked back. They got together for officialz on the 20th January 2002, meaning that by the time they finally get married, they will have been together for 12 years and 19 days.
In that time, they have lived in Sam’s room, in Winchester, back to Sam’s room, Ridge Hill in Golders Green with Tom and John, Constantine Road in South End Green, Golders Way with Tom (again) and now in Brockley.
It wasn’t until 2013 that they got engaged, at the pergola at the top of Hampstead Heath, after many years of nagging from friends and family, all of whom are still loved and liked despite this behaviour.
Now they are to be married, and there are many, many more stories to be told and written.
