Sam and Beth have decided to get married at The Royal Institution in Mayfair, primarily owing to their rich and influential personal histories in the world of physics and the wider sphere of scientific discovery. Also, it’s well nice and we can totes get married in the building so we don’t have to ferry all you reprobates from one place to another.
So, the basics first.
The Royal Institution, 21 Albemarle Street, London, W1S 4BS – Which is here:
There are many and multiple ways for you to travel to the wedding. If you’re coming from outside the capital, you can get yourselves to London, but after that you can:
- Get the Jubilee Line from Waterloo to Green Park, walk the 5 minutes or so from Green Park.
- Get the Victoria Line from Euston to Green Park, walk the 5 minutes or so from Green Park.
- From whatever station you come into, you can get a bus. Buses in London are flippin’ marvellous.
- Also from whatever station you come into, you can get a cab. These are fine over short distances and you shouldn’t be far enough away for this to be cost-prohibitive.
- Also from whatever station you come into, you can walk. I wouldn’t if you aren’t coming to Green Park, Piccadilly or Bond Street, but you could. Same goes for horse, jetpack or helicopter.
- Oh yeah, you could also drive. If you are, parking is probably not great in the immediate area, but if you park slightly outside (where we live in Brockley, perhaps), and then travel in via the aforementioned Tube, the parking will be free.
- Any further information on how to get there can be gleaned from Transport for London. In fact, just because we like all of you, here is a Tube Map just to help you along the way.
Those of you already living in London, you should already know how to get there and, if you don’t, you should be ashamed and immediately go and write a self-pitying entry in your diaries.
